GBMS Purpose Statement
Guinyard-Butler Middle School will prepare our students to walk in their destiny in the areas of Academics, Athletics, and the Arts.
The three A’s will be achieved utilizing the following methods:

Individualized Instruction
Implementation of Technology
Information sessions for Athletics and Arts
College and Career Readiness Opportunities


GBMS Students will:

  • solve problems and think critically;
  • be efficient consumers of information moving them to perform at “met” or higher on state standardized assessments and in the classroom;
  • demonstrate good character and self-discipline by generating fewer office referrals per year;
  • become responsible and ethical members of the community as shown by participation in class, extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities;
  • be challenged to perform beyond the middle school in the most demanding, yet appropriate, academic areas possible.
